Why Is Starchild Rooftop a Great Spot for After-Work Meetups?

There are several reasons why we are a great location to meet up after work with your co-workers and friends:

  • Horizon Hour: Our Happy Hour runs from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. every Tuesday through Thursday.
  • Stunning views: Enjoy gorgeous views overlooking the Hudson River as the sun sets or check out the city skyline while sipping on your favorite drinks.
  • No cover charge: Unlike other rooftop bars in NYC, we don’t charge a cover to get in.
  • Age restrictive: We are an adults-only lounge, so you never have to worry about families or underage teenagers.
  • Dress code: We maintain a business casual environment at all times, so there’s no need to change after you get done working.

What Drinks and Shareable Bites Are Available?

Our cocktail list, called The Set List, draws on the creative energy of the Theater District and Hell’s Kitchen. We have handcrafted layered drinks, tropical drinks, and seasonal offerings.

You could also start with a sharable Cocktail Tower or sample some of our Horizon Hour specials, like our:

  • Espresso martini flights
  • Classic margaritas
  • House spirits with Fever-Tree mixers

Our mixologists are also happy to make recommendations when you are unsure what you want to drink.

Our selection of shareable bites includes these guest favorites:

  • Truffle parmesan tater tots, with truffle aioli and fresh chives
  • Hamachi wonton tacos, with yuzu-ponzu and serrano chili
  • Whipped ricotta, with tomato compote and warm bread
  • Mezze platter, with hummus, muhammara, and whipped feta

The small sharing plates are perfect for passing around and sampling a little of everything for a unique rooftop dining experience.

What Makes Starchild Rooftop Stand Out From Other Midtown Rooftop Bars?

One of the reasons our rooftop lounge stands out from other Midtown Manhattan rooftop bars is because of our especially curated cocktail program.

We treat each drink like a track on a playlist, with a wide variety to suit anyone’s tastes. Next, we understand not everyone wants to drink alcoholic beverages. We have one of the best selections of zero-proof options and specialty mocktails in the Theater District.

We also have the best Happy Hour with skyline views in the city. Our retractable roof is clear glass, so even when it is rainy, you still get gorgeous views of the city.

On Fridays and Saturdays, if you stick around later into the evening, we have music by some of the top DJs in town.

Lastly, you could even transition downstairs to Carversteak after Horizon Hour for dinner and then return to our rooftop bar for after-dinner drinks.

Where Is Starchild Rooftop Located in Midtown?

We sit in the heart of Hell’s Kitchen, an area known for its artistic legacy and steady creative pulse. We are conveniently located on the corner of 48th and 8th on the 27th floor inside the Civilian Hotel.

There are several subway stations located within walking distance, and we are about a 10-minute walk from Times Square.

Is It Good for Casual Business Meetings or Team Happy Hours?

When you want to have a post-work casual meeting, or are trying to impress a client, we are a great spot for drinks.

When you want to celebrate your team’s success, a birthday, or scoring a new account, our Horizon Hour is perfect for kicking off the evening.

We also have semi-private and private event options for larger groups.

How Can Guests Make a Reservation?

Booking ahead is the simplest way to secure a table or spot at our bar. While we do welcome walk-ins and do our best to accommodate them, we cannot guarantee wait times or entrance times.

Reservations can be made online for groups up to 40 guests and up to 30 days out. So, you can make reservations for after-work drinks in NYC Midtown every day of the week except Mondays, since we are closed then.

Don’t forget to also book reservations for Friday and Saturday nights for one of the best places to go dancing in NYC.
