Starchild Rooftop is a 21+ venue. No one under the age of 21 may enter the venue.

We are located on the 27th floor of the Civilian Hotel on 8th avenue and 48th Street.

Thursday: 5:00 PM – 2:00 AM
Friday: 5:00 PM – 2:00 AM

What kind of music do you play?

We play a mix of open format influenced by soulful house, funk, soul, disco and golden era hip hop. For special events, DJs will often feature their own music format that will typically align with our format. View our upcoming events here.

Is there a cover charge?

There is not a cover charge, however there might be a minimum spend for your party during our busier nights.

How do I make a reservation?

Reservations can be made through RESY or OpenTable. Walk-ins are welcome, subject to availability. For large parties or special inquiries, please contact our reservations team directly ([email protected]).

What if I’m staying in the hotel?

We always try to accommodate and prioritize requests from guests staying at the Civilian Hotel. If you are a guest at the hotel, please feel free to email us here with details of your stay and request [email protected].

What is the dress code?

Starchild maintains an upscale, fashion-forward dress code.

We do not allow beachwear, shorts, athletic apparel, sweatpants, jerseys, sleeveless shirts or hoodies. Beanies, baseball hats, and flip-flops are likewise prohibited.

Admission is at the discretion of management who reserves the right to refuse service to patrons who are inappropriately dressed regardless of reservation status.

Do you serve food?

Yes, we have a small but hearty list of bar snacks and bites available. We stop serving bites after 11PM on Tuesdays + Wednesdays and 1AM Thursdays - Saturdays.
